When being kind enough to carry a baby for someone else goes wrong…
When Jessica Bartholomew agreed to carry and deliver a baby for media personality and actress Sherri Shepherd and her then husband, Lamar Sally, she never imagined that she’s now be paying child support for the child. Shepard and Sally separated while Bartholomew was still pregnant and Sherri has completely has abandoned the situation and the child. Bartholomew told Inside Edition that the state of California may come after her to pay child support to Sally, who has full custody of Lamar, Jr.
I am now listed as a noncustodial parent in California. I have a child support case coming against me now,” said Bartholomew, whose name is on the birth certificate as the mother.
Shepherd is clearly not concerned with any of it. The child was conceived using Sally’s sperm and another women’s egg. Therefore, Sally was awarded full custody of the child and Shephard has no parental rights. Bartholomew seems more upset with Shepherd than Sally for outcome of the situation.
I am angry with Sherri because she never once contacted me to tell me what was happening,” Bartholomew said. It was kind of like I was left out in the cold.
But didn’t Sally leave her out in the cold too? In fact, if Sally would simply get a job instead of applying for government and/or state funded financial assistance for the child, the state wouldn’t be going after her.
