On Saturday a jury in Jacksonville, Florida convicted Michael Dunn of attempted second-degree murder in the death of Jordan Davis. Dunn shot and killed Davis after an altercation stemming from Davis and his friends playing loud music in their vehicle while at a gas station on November 23, 2012 . On Sunday, the parents and family of Jordan Davis celebrated what would have been his 19th birthday without him.
The jury was deadlocked on the murder charge against Dunn. Although Dunn will more than likely spend his life in prison are we disappointed that the jury wasn’t able to convict on the murder charge? In light of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin are we satisfied with the attempted second-degree murder conviction? Has justice been served?
