To have garnered enough clientele to have a successful business is a major accomplishment, but to be able to give back to the very clients responsible for your success is a blessing. That’s exactly what Kachina Fleet, the owner of C’est Chic Concepts, did at the 6th Annual Treats and Tea: The Beauty Experience. C’est Chic Concepts, a group of hair stylists, make-up artists, event planners and wardrobe consultants, hosted the annual event last weekend at the intimate Indulj Lounge in the U Street corridor of Washington, DC.
During the event, Kachina shared with me the inspiration behind this year’s event, which was bigger and better than ever.
What inspired me to do this event is I just kind of wanted to give something back to my clients. They ask me all the time ‘where do I get this piece from’, ‘where do I get that piece from’ or ‘how do I apply that makeup’, ‘where’d you get that lip from’. So this is my way of giving giving it all back at one time and letting everyone know what our vision of chic and what our vision of beauty and fashion.
Kachina’s vision was made reality yesterday as women filled the rooms of Inqulj Lounge purchasing clothing and accessories, receiving complimentary make-up applications and manicures, enjoying passed hor d’oeurves, sipping signature cocktails and indulging in sweet treats from acclaimed pastry chefs. They even got a few tips on managing their beauty budget from award-winning finance coach, Dominique Broadway.
The best element of the event in my opinion was the exposure component on both sides of the coin. Cupcakes and cocktails are great, but being a consumer and finding small businesses with services that cater to your day to day life or being a vendor and having the opportunity to network with other businesses are both invaluable. Kudos to Kachina and C’est Chic Concepts on a chic, chat worthy and successful event!
