Lil Kim Then and Now

Over the weekend ‘Lil Kim released a series of selfies on Instagram showing off her new look.  In only a matter of hours, almost everyone on social media was sharing their opinion about the rapper’s drastic “makeover”.  It appears that she has went under the knife again and resembles someone of European decent.

J. Cole Married

So when celebs act like they can’t make a move outside of the public eye are they exaggerating? Because J. Cole managed to get married without anyone knowing for months. The rapper was outed by director Ryan Coogler at yesterday’s #MLKNOW event in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. During their onstage chat, Coogler asked Cole how married life changed him. Cole, shocked, realized that the cat was indeed out of the bag. Watch their exchange below.

Who would have thought that in 2016 we would still be fighting against racism, classicism and the continued disregard for the talents and contributions of black people to the world. In fact, the fight for equality seems just as prevalent in 2016 as it was in 1968 when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was slain on a balcony in Memphis, Tennessee. Yesterday was a day to honor him. It was a day to refocus on his dream and what needs to be done to keep it alive. It was a day where entertainers including comedian Chris Rock, actors Harry Belafonte, Octavia Spencer, Michael B. Jordan, musical artists India Arie, J. Cole, Jussie Smollett and numerous others joined hundreds of people to pay tribute to Dr. King and other civil rights leaders. The event touted as “#MLKNOW” was sponsored by Blackout for Human Rights and the Campaign for Black Male Achievement and was held last night at the Riverside Church in Manhattan where Dr. King delivered his historical sermon opposing the Vietnam War in 1967.

K. Michelle - Erica Mena Surgery

Either the “big booty, big boobies, big everything” trend is ending or confidence is rising. I hope it’s the latter. Reality stars K. Michelle and Erica Mena are just a few of the women who previously admitted to cosmetic surgery but are now downgrading or removing their enhancements all together. Both ladies are venturing out beyond reality TV and building their brands in their respective areas of interest. Apparently, their enhancements have been more of a distraction than asset recently.

[UPDATED: Michael B. Jordan is no longer directing the video for Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange”. I wonder what happened?

With his most recent successful role as Apollo Creed in the latest installment of the Rocky franchise “Creed”, Michael B. Jordan ended 2015 on a high note. Excelling at your craft can often allow you the opportunity to do things you never even imaged…and some things you always dreamed of. Michael B. Jordan has always dreamed of some day sitting in the director’s chair. It looks like he may be getting his chance. In a recent interview with Apple Music, singer Bryson Tiller spilled the beans about Jordan directing the music video for his song “Exchange”.

Last week reality TV stars Benzino, Claudia Jordan, Laura Govan, Tiffany “New York” Pollard, Jennifer Williams as well as other celebrities attended the “Hip Hop Weekly Magazine Goes Hollywood” celebration. There were plenty of cameras flashing and flicking. Not only because of the celebration of the mag’s move to the west coast, but also because the event included a live taping of TV One‘s new reality series “The Next 15”, a docu-series following the lives of six reality stars looking to extend their 15 minutes of fame.
